Microsoft Retires Skype, Pushes Teams as Replacement
Microsoft has announced that it will retire its once-popular video conferencing application, Skype, by May 2025. Additionally, Teams provides enhanced functionalities such as hosting meetings, managing calendars, and building or joining communities—all for free. This shift reflects Microsoft’s strategy to consolidate its communication tools under a single, more versatile platform that caters to both personal and professional needs.
