Sky Unites Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix and Hayu in One Subscription in Industry First
Sky has announced a major shake-up of the UK and Ireland television market, revealing plans to combine Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix and Hayu into a single Sky TV subscription — a move it describes as a world-first for a pay-TV platform.
The new proposition means customers will be able to access some of the biggest global streaming services alongside Sky’s own originals, exclusives and live channels, all fully integrated within the Sky experience. From blockbuster HBO dramas and Disney franchises to Netflix hits and reality favourites from Hayu, the content will sit side by side under one subscription.
A New Era for Sky Customers
At the heart of the announcement is Sky Ultimate TV, which from 1 April will be available to new customers from £24 per month on a 24-month minimum term. The package brings together Sky TV, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu in one place, alongside more than 130 channels including Sky Atlantic, Sky Comedy, Sky Crime, Sky History and Sky Documentaries.
Existing customers will also benefit. Millions will gain access to additional streaming apps as part of their current subscriptions, representing more than £20 worth of added value each month based on standard retail pricing.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, described the move as a “new era” for Sky and NOW, saying the company is making it easier than ever for customers to enjoy the world’s most popular entertainment brands within one seamless platform.
What Customers Get — And When
From March (exact date to be confirmed), eligible Sky TV customers will receive Disney+ Standard with Ads included in their subscription. HBO Max Basic with Ads will launch in the UK and Ireland on 26 March and will be bundled into relevant Sky packages from day one. Hayu will be fully included from July, although selected reality series will be available from March as a preview.
Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers with Ultimate TV will receive Disney+ Standard with Ads, HBO Max Basic with Ads and Hayu, alongside Sky TV and Netflix.
Sky Q customers with Sky Signature, Sky Entertainment or other eligible packages will gain Disney+ Standard with Ads, HBO Max Basic with Ads and Hayu, while those with Sky Ultimate TV will also receive Netflix.
Sky+ customers will have access to HBO Max Basic with Ads and Hayu content alongside their Sky TV subscription.
For customers already paying for Disney+ directly, Sky is offering the option to move their subscription across and save £5.99 per month. Profiles and watch history can be retained, and those who prefer higher-tier Disney+ or HBO Max plans can upgrade, with the cost of the included ad-supported tier deducted from the price.
HBO Max Arrives in the UK
The expanded deal with Warner Bros. Discovery marks a significant moment for UK viewers, as HBO Max officially launches in the region on 26 March. Through Sky, customers will gain access to acclaimed series such as Succession, The Wire, Game of Thrones and upcoming titles including A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Sky Atlantic will continue airing future seasons of major HBO titles including House of the Dragon, Euphoria and The White Lotus, running alongside HBO Max availability.
Sky Cinema subscribers will also continue to receive Warner Bros. films such as Superman and One Battle After Another, as well as movies from Paramount and NBCUniversal. In addition, a new Disney+ Cinema channel will launch for Sky Cinema customers using Sky Glass, Sky Stream or Sky Q, offering even more films within the subscription.
Reality TV and Box Sets in One Place
Hayu, known for its reality programming, will be fully integrated into Sky from July. This includes same-day US episodes of franchises like The Real Housewives and Below Deck. From March, viewers will get early access to selected titles including The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Below Deck Mediterranean.
Meanwhile, Netflix remains part of the Ultimate TV bundle, giving subscribers access to global hits such as Stranger Things, Wednesday and Bridgerton.
Powered by Sky OS
A major part of the strategy is integration. Sky OS — the operating system behind Sky Stream and Sky Glass — curates content from multiple apps into a single interface. Viewers will see recommendations from Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu displayed together on the homepage.
Features such as Continue Watching will now allow users to pick up Disney+ and Hayu titles alongside Sky and Netflix content without switching apps. Playlists enable customers to save shows and films from across services into one place, while voice control allows seamless searching across platforms with commands like “Hello Sky, play The Bear.”
NOW Customers Also Benefit
NOW customers are also included in the expansion. From 26 March, existing NOW Entertainment members will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads at no extra cost through a new NOW Entertainment & HBO Max membership, starting at £6.99 per month for new subscribers (with a six-month saver option). A lower-priced NOW Entertainment tier, without HBO Max, will be available from £4.99 per month.
A Competitive Move in a Crowded Market
With streaming services typically competing for attention — and subscription fees — Sky’s strategy positions it as an aggregator, bringing major global brands under one billing relationship and user interface.
By combining Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix and Hayu alongside its own originals and exclusives, Sky is aiming to offer what it calls the broadest fully integrated entertainment experience available in the UK and Ireland.
For customers, it signals a shift toward simplification — fewer apps to manage, one bill, and a single destination for everything from prestige drama and blockbuster films to reality TV and comedy.
From April, that all comes bundled together from £24 per month — marking one of the most ambitious packaging moves the UK TV market has seen to date.
