The legacy of Shinzo Abe, Japan’s greatest prime minister

After some controversy state funeral for Japan’s longest-serving prime minister, Shinzo Abe, has been held in Tokyo on 26 September 2022. On 8 July, Abe was in the southern city of Nara, promoting on behalf of a candidate running for Japan’s upper house.  He was shot from behind while delivering a speech at a rally. He was carried to an emergency and later passed on in the hospital. Abe was shot two times, one bullet hitting his heart while he was delivering a speech on the road in the city of Nara on Friday 8th July 2022.

Leaders across the globe gave their sympathies, and numerous nations including the USA, Spain, and France communicated fortitude with Japan. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a day of National grieving on Saturday as a sign of most profound regard for Abe. Biden signs the book of condolences in the Japanese embassy in the USA and called him a champion of the alliance between the US and japan.

He was delivering a speech when a shooter fired him, – a 41-year-old who is accepted to be a previous individual from the Self-Defense Force, Japan’s likeness naval force. Security authorities at the scene handled the shooter and a suspect is presently in police custody. The shooter told police that he initially planned to attack a leader of a  group that is linked to former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Shinzo Abe, a former prime minister of Japan, was first elected to the parliament in 1993. He was made chief cabinet secretary in 2005. His journey to the top happened fast when he became Japan’s youngest top state leader since the end of World War II in 2006.

Shinzo Abe, the head of state of Japan with the longest tenure, was well-known for his aggressive foreign policy and a notable financial approach that became popularly known as “Abenomics.” The 67-year-old Abe, a tremendously well-known and remarkable lawmaker, led the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) to victory twice.

Japan was in a  slowdown when he started his second term in 2012 and his monetary strategy was attributed to aiding return development to a vacillating economy. He directed Japan’s bounce back from a disastrous earthquake and tsunami in Tohoku in 2011, which killed almost 20,000 individuals and led to a core melt accident at the Fukushima atomic reactors. In 2020 due to health issues, he stepped down as prime minister.

 

Shinzo Abe’s loss is a misfortune that isn’t just for Japan’s democracy yet influences the whole world’s politics.
