PlayStation Plus June 2026 Lineup Headlined by Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

PlayStation Plus June 2026 Lineup Headlined by Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Sony has officially unveiled the June 2026 monthly games lineup for PlayStation Plus, featuring a strong mix of co-op action, survival gameplay, and competitive fighting titles. The headliner for many subscribers is the acclaimed sci-fi shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, which joins the service alongside Grounded Fully Yoked Edition and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.

All three monthly titles will be available to PlayStation Plus members from June 2 through July 6, giving subscribers a full month to claim and play the games. In addition, EA Sports FC 26 will remain available until June 16 as a continuing bonus title, coinciding with the build-up to global football tournaments and seasonal sporting interest.

Among the lineup, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide stands out as the most significant addition, particularly for fans of the long-running tabletop universe created by Games Workshop. The game is developed by Fatshark and delivers a cooperative first-person action experience set in the grimdark future of the Warhammer 40K universe.

Set in the sprawling hive city of Tertium, Darktide places players in squads of four as they fight to reclaim a city overrun by heretics, mutants, and chaos-driven forces. The gameplay focuses heavily on teamwork, combining ranged gunplay with brutal melee combat, class-based abilities, and mission objectives that require coordination and strategy.

When Darktide originally launched on PC in 2022, it faced criticism for technical instability, progression issues, and missing features that players expected from Fatshark’s previous title, Vermintide 2. However, over time, the developer has steadily improved the experience through consistent updates, balance changes, and new content expansions.

As a result, Darktide has evolved into a much more polished and content-rich co-op experience, with many players now considering it one of the best modern adaptations of the Warhammer 40K universe in gaming. The game is frequently praised for its atmospheric world-building, intense combat encounters, and immersive audio design, which together capture the oppressive tone of Games Workshop’s futuristic setting.

The timing of its arrival on PlayStation Plus is also notable, as Fatshark is preparing to roll out a major update later this month. On June 23, the game is expected to introduce a new Skitarii-inspired class, bringing cybernetic enhancements, new weapon options, and expanded tactical abilities drawn from the Adeptus Mechanicus faction.

This update is expected to significantly expand gameplay variety, especially for returning players looking for fresh progression systems and new combat styles. It also reinforces Darktide’s ongoing live-service evolution, which has helped stabilize its player base after a rocky launch period.

Alongside Darktide, the June lineup includes Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The survival game shrinks players down to insect size and challenges them to survive in a backyard environment filled with dangerous creatures, resource gathering, and base-building mechanics. Its inclusion adds a cooperative survival element to the month’s offerings, complementing Darktide’s combat-focused gameplay.

The third title, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, provides a more lighthearted competitive experience featuring characters from popular Nickelodeon franchises. The game continues to build on the platform fighter genre, offering accessible gameplay for both casual and competitive players.

Meanwhile, Sony continues to use PlayStation Plus as a key driver of engagement within its broader gaming ecosystem. The subscription service has become increasingly important as competition intensifies across the gaming industry, particularly as Microsoft expands its own subscription offerings and third-party titles appear across multiple platforms.

Interestingly, the inclusion of a Microsoft-published title like Grounded highlights how platform boundaries have become more flexible in the modern gaming landscape, with publishers increasingly prioritizing audience reach over exclusivity in certain cases.

Still, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide remains the standout release of the month, particularly given the strong and growing popularity of the Warhammer franchise across video games, tabletop gaming, books, and streaming adaptations. The franchise’s distinctive dark sci-fi universe continues to attract new audiences, especially in cooperative and narrative-driven game formats.

For PlayStation Plus subscribers, June 2026 offers a well-rounded lineup that balances intense cooperative action, survival crafting, and competitive fighting gameplay. However, with its improved systems, upcoming content update, and strong franchise backing, Darktide is positioned as the defining title of the month and a major incentive for players to dive into the service’s offerings.
