How to Watch Safely
Experts emphasize that looking directly at the Sun without proper eye protection can cause permanent eye damage, even during a partial eclipse.
Observers should use ISO 12312-2 certified eclipse glasses or approved solar filters for telescopes, binoculars, and cameras. The only time it is safe to look directly at the eclipse without eye protection is during the brief period of totality, when the Sun is completely covered by the Moon. As soon as sunlight begins to reappear, eclipse glasses must be worn again.
