The Meta-owned messaging service said in a company blog that the new community feature is rolling out globally but will roll out to all users in the coming months.

WhatsApp also announced other new features. This includes in-chat polling, video calls supporting up to 32 people, and group creation supporting 1,024 users. These features also apply to his newly started WhatsApp community.

“To get started, tap the New Community tab at the top of the chat on Android or at the bottom on iOS. From there, you can start a new community from scratch or add an existing group,” WhatsApp said in a post.

Communities aim to bring together relevant WhatsApp groups, such as schools and workplaces so that messages can be shared more widely. WhatsApp believes the new update will be handy for organizations that value end-to-end message encryption. , and admins can send important updates to everyone in the community,” said WhatsApp.
